The Ningbo Yuren group is the new share holder of Steiger situated in Vionnaz, Valais. With 3500 employees, Ningbo Yuren based in the province of Zhejiang in China has produced more than 45’000 computerized knitting machines with a turnover of 200 millions USD in 2009.
The acquisition of Steiger supports its strategy to strengthen its rapid growth in China in term of volume and technology differentiation.
The company Steiger Participations SA is active in the production and the sales of industrial knitting machines. With a headquarter based in Vionnaz Switzerland, its activity is supported by operations in Italy and China. Steiger is specialized in the textile machines for the fashion and has become the world leader for the medical applications.

50 years of experience in the building of flat knitting machines,
is today a company which is recognized internationally for their
advanced high quality knitting machines. Steiger has always aimed

tools ensures the manufacture of top quality precision engineered
parts for the range of all knitting machines. A highly qualified
personnel is in charge of quality control at the different
production's levels.

unit which deals with the programming of software for the automated
processing of design for the knitting machines. The system, which
